Clacton & District Color Slide Club was founded on the 6th of January 1964 to promote interest in colour slide photography by presenting slide shows and holding competitions. The club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies.
In 2010 the club was awarded a grant from Grassroots and Essex Community Foundation to buy equipment to take the club into the digital age. To reflect this change the club was renamed the Clacton Projected Image Club CPIC and now promotes interest in digital photography. The Club is small and friendly with membership varying from very active, competent members, to ones who come along to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and see images from around the world including various parts of the UK. New members and visitors are always welcome. Membership is currently £30 per season and visitors £2 per night, refreshments are available at a small charge. We meet at 7.30pm at The Friends Meeting House, Granville Road, Clacton, on alternate Mondays from the beginning of September to the beginning of May.
